Houston United Girls Flag Football League ("Houston United," "we," "us," or "our") is a program of She Plays Flag Texas, a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 41-2859150). She Plays Flag Texas is the entity that collects, uses, and is responsible for personal information submitted in connection with Houston United.

Houston United is intended for youth athletes, and many of our players are under the age of 13. We comply with the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

All registration information for players under 13 must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. • Promoting the league through photos, video, and stories on our website and social media (subject to the Photo Release in our Terms of Participation and any opt-outs on file)
• Maintaining the safety of participants, including emergency contact and medical information shared with coaches and staff as needed
• Ensuring compliance with our Terms of Participation, Code of Conduct, and other policies
• Improving our website, services, and league operations
• Meeting legal, regulatory, insurance, and tax requirements
How We Share Information
We share personal information only as described below:
• With coaches and team managers: roster information, contact information for parents and players, and emergency contact details, as needed to operate the team
• With coaches participating in the free agent draft: limited free agent information (name, age, position, skills, combine results) to inform draft selections; full contact information is shared only with coaches whose teams successfully draft the free agent
• With league officials and referees: as needed to operate games, enforce eligibility, and apply league rules
• With our service providers: third-party vendors who help us operate the league, such as our registration platform (e.g., TeamSnap), payment processor, insurance carrier, background check provider, and email or hosting providers. These providers are contractually required to protect personal information.
• With other parents and teams (limited): we may publish team rosters and schedules where player first names and last initials appear; full last names, birth dates, and contact information are not publicly published without consent.
• For legal reasons: when required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Houston United, our participants, or others
• In connection with a business transfer: if Houston United merges with, is acquired by, or transfers substantially all of its assets to another entity
We do not sell personal information.
Photos, Video, and Media
During games, practices, and league events, photos and video may be taken by league staff, official photographers, parents, and other attendees. Houston United may use these images for promotion on our website, social media, marketing materials, and league communications. By participating in the league, you and your child consent to such use as described in our Terms of Participation, except where you have submitted a written opt-out request.
To opt out of having your child's image used in league promotional materials, submit a written request to info@houstonunitedgirlsflag.org before the start of the season. Opt-outs apply to league-controlled use only; we cannot control photos or video posted by other parents or third parties.
